Pietje - oktober

train oma crawl garden CDs

On the first day of October - or was it the last of September, the large breakthrough happened: I discovered how to move forward on my hands and knees. Watch me crawling:

This allowed me to explore the living room more effectively. My favourites are pulling the CDs from the lower two shelves and retrieving the pots and pans from the kitchen cupboards. My mother has bought me a home safety kit.

Otherwise, we did some travelling. The first weekend we went to see the baptisme of my friend Laura in Torino (northern Italy, think Fiat). Mum and Dad were quite happy to spend time with me on the central square, as they could enjoy the Italian sun, while I had my own space on the picnic blanket. They for got to take any other pictures.

The second weekend we stayed from Friday with oma in Eindhoven. After the tea, I spent time sitting in the garden with mummy and oma and crawling to the camera. On Sunday, we went by train to my cousin Tiem's (dad's younger sister's son) baptisme in Amsterdam.

Then uncle Paul came around from Melbourne with the Australian Ballet - he rigs the set on the stage. He spent enough time with me to get used to each other. While he was in the UK, my ante-natal friend Orla came around.

The last weekend in October, we went to see my other cousin's new house in Zwolle. It huge! (by Dutch standards). And it was nice to spend time with Thirza, Laure, Bento, Michael and Hanna.

In the final half of October, I discovered the joys of standing. It requires some effort to pull myself up, but it allows me to reach more items on the coffee table and see out over the side of my cot.
