In the long weekend, we took Juultje for the first time to the Blue Mountains. While the weather was cold and we all had colds and sneezes, we decided to try as we had not been there for about two years - time flies when the family expands. Juultje was keen to walk herself, assisted by two siblings and supervised by a parent (while the other was snapping pictures). Juultje made it to the first viewing point at Pricess Rock Lookout, where she was stuffed into the rucksack. From there we decended to the top of Wentworth falls (wikipedia). We had a snack got slightly lost and decided to decend right to the bottom, which provided a marvelous sight back up. We took the long but scenic National Pass walking track back up, where the family got a well deserved icecream for the four hour walk, while dad and a screaming Juultje got the car.

Piet went to the dentist, who tried to explain him how best to brush his teeth.

dentist: "What do the wheels on the bus do?"
Piet: "They keep the bus off the ground, and then it depends on what the engine is doing."

On leaving the dentist surgery, the dental assistant asked him for his favourite colour.

Piet: "Aqua."

He left with a blue toothbrush.

In the meantime, Juliana has started to say her first word-like sounds: "shs" for shoes and "muh" or "mlch" for milk, "ba" for bag. She also tries to pronounce our names. She is not strong on her vowels yet. Mum saw a double rainbow on her way back from school.

Emma loves her beanie boos. Juultje likes them too, but Emma is not keen to have Juultje wipe her snotty nose on them. Juultje read a picture book with her big brother and pointed some animals out to him. At the start of the school holidays, Remy came over from Melbourne with his mum for a sleepover.
